Natalie Klouda

Natalie was born in Suffolk and began to play the violin at the age of three. She went on to win a place at the Yehudi Menuhin School in 1992 where she studied with Natalia Boyarsky, Hu Kun and Maciej Rakowski, taking part in masterclasses with Yehudi Menuhin and Mistlav Rostropovich.

Natalie made her London debut as a soloist aged nine in two performances of Vivaldi’s Concerto for Four Violins at the Royal Festival Hall. At the opening concert of the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition 2000, Natalie was a soloist in a performance of Vivaldi’s Concerto for Three Violins with Joji Hattori conducting the London Mozart Players. She performed Beethoven’s Romance in G at the Royal Festival Hall in 2001, and in 2002 made her Wigmore Hall début.

In 2002 Natalie continued her studies with Maciej Rakowski at the Royal Northern College of Music during which she performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with Orchestra (2004) and was awarded The Leon Award, Eleanor Warren Prize, Contemporary Music Performance Prize 2005 and 2006 and the Philip Newman Prize for Violin (2007) culminating in a First Class BMus Degree. Natalie then studied with Jan Repko for her Masters Degree at the RNCM and most recently her PGDip at the Royal College of Music in London receiving Distinctions for both.

Natalie is also a keen composer and recently finished a work for solo violin called Three Glimpses.
